Adopt food sensing technologies, blockchain, and IoT for real time supply chain transparency and traceability. Consumers will be able to scan a code on product labels at the grocery store to track food to its origins and follow its journey from farm to table.

They will also be able to compare the food they are purchasing against global food safety, nutrition, and environmental benchmarks and standards.

    @oliversanchez, @AISSINNOVATION, @hiteshgiri, @louis, what are your thoughts on this potential breakthrough? Do you think it would go far enough to help feed billions more people? Is it audacious enough to be considered a breakthrough?

    Traceability is surely becoming more and more important, but not sure it will increase production. I do believe it will become easier to trace contaminated food through the supply chain and that consumers want to know more about the source of their food.
