Does Resveratrol reverse aging?

From Forbes:
The gruesome march of aging and death is considered an inescapable fact of life. But with everything we’ve learned about our molecular inner-workings, does aging have to be inevitable?

The search for a cure to aging is as old as humanity itself. An ancient Chinese alchemist in search of the “elixir of long life” ironically ended up creating gunpowder, the worst man-made purveyor of death.

Recent attempts, such as the supplement resveratrol, have produced similarly lack-luster results. As I mentioned in a previous article, the best-known means of preventing aging and death today is caloric-restriction, or eating fewer calories and from healthier foods (exercise is a close second).

But what if there were a pill that could mimic the effects of calorie restriction without us actually having to eat less? Rob Fried, CEO of ChromaDex, believes his company has found just that.

    Hello Lisa,

This was, in fact, my article that you quoted. It was about NAD supplementation, not resveratrol. There are legitimate concerns about resveratrol’s bio availability, and meta-analyses have revealed resveratrol does not have an effect on human health.

More research is required, especially long-term expensive clinical trials, To establish whether other compounds like NAD do indeed increase longevity.
