What innovations do you believe will help bring about a mining industry that generates zero waste?
And what are the barriers to achieving zero waste? How do we dissolve them?
The Zero-Waste Mining Prize Design is an ambitious initiative sponsored by global mining companies motivated to accelerate the pace of technological innovation and implementation and change the industry while benefiting the communities where they operate.
The Challenge
As standards of living increase the world is demanding more and more extracted resources. At the same time, ore grades continue to decrease and regulations continue to tighten, making waste management an ever more expensive and risky endeavor.
The Goal
To design an XPRIZE to accelerate and scale innovations that aim to completely eliminate and/or reuse mining waste, and to make these innovations accessible to the entire industry.
Your Role
As a member of our online community of experts from around the world, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and experiences, discuss promising innovations, and influence the evolution of the Zero-Waste Mining Prize Design.
