    My name is Dror and I'm the founder of https://libris.app, which aims to teach children aged 3-7 how to read by reading aloud to them. I believe the target audience is younger than the one of the XPRIZE. We're collaborating with several schools in the S.F. Bay Area and have learned quite a bit already about what works with such young kids.

    Hi, I am Virginie from Switzerland. I am president founder of a NGO called COCÖÖÖN. We fix or create communities on demand. Our biggest one is around organization of war victims in Ivory Coast. They are 140 000 official victims and their families and so we are creating training programs to help them going to the futur. We are looking after every part of living (energy, water, communication, schools...) and people too from pregnant women, baby, children, adult, old people.
    This part of our activities has be built following an XPrize about How to help poor farmer to get out from poverty last year. We were not selected but we had a vision, a white paper and community asked us to help them. Our actions are in India, Africa and Switzerland. I am very interested with your program to complete our offer toward populations who are still living far from modern civilization.

    Hi everyone, I'm Ramon from Mexico. My partners and I are proposing a foreign language-learning tool called "Avalinguo" which is very much like a connected game for the smartphone, showing the other users as avatars so that they can keep their privacy. The use of virtual reality is also useful for providing synthetic environments adapted to the topics discussed in small virtual rooms. We also use some Artificial Intelligence tools for real-time evaluation of pronunciation, and also evaluation of the meeting engagement level, as we think engagement is the real key for sticking to language practicing.

    Hi, like Michelle in Canada, I am also a non-XPRIZE person. My name is Terry. I think the Global Learning XPRIZE is an amazing way to kickstart a movement that is so desperately needed. I am delighted that onebillion is one of the winners as I have been following their progress since I first saw their work in Malawi back in 2016. I live in the UK but back then I was living in Tanzania and had the privilege of watching the enjoyment and mathematical progress made by one young girl, Veronica, who was using onebillion's software on my tablet. Brilliant!

    Hello, My name is Maria Handal, I am a Honduran Citizen, I have been following this competition since I found out about it in 2017. I am so excited that its finished! So excited that all software was successfull . I got all teared up, haha and got so excited when winners were announced my kids thought I was crazy. I asked them to watch it with me because last night was one of the biggest inflection points I have witnessed in my lifetime. This will change the world and I cannot believe my luck that I will be alive to witness it!
    Congratulations to everyone on every team, I have no words to express my gratitude and admiration.
    I have always been passionate about education! I know this is the only route for us to be able to create abundance for all! Please allow me to be a part of this. I have the connections to make it happen , the desire and willingness to dedicate time to it. Please let me know how I can be of service , there is no time to waste :) we need to start in this region asap!!

    Hey everyone! Jason Bavington here. Our team was one of the 198 competing in this competition and we were able to make it to the last round before semi-finals. It was a very exciting journey for our team of 22 volunteers, who relied entirely on passion and sweat equity to create and craft and code, with no $ available or allocated to our project.

    Our solution, known as ShiraX, allows anyone to create Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based apps that directly and organically engage with the child to create custom-curriculum, based on the child's environment. Through prompting, the child describes to the system what they are seeing or experiencing that day. Or the system visually assesses the environment using an image recognition neural net. Once keywords have been picked up from the child, the system then begins a context-specific learning process.

    Hello. I am Lou- I'm a teacher from Australia. I've got a gig as an Education Specialist in Malawi on the Unlocking Talent Project. My work permit is in government limbo, so while I wait I have been looking at the datasets here, and a couple of other related research projects.
    I'm particularly interested in the effectiveness of the software combined with a traditional school context, as this is the basis of my role (when I finally arrive in country).
    I have sorted the social-emotional dataset and the EGRA results to show the combination of variables "registered (in a school)" and "treatment/control", and am finding a particularly positive effect for the set "registered" and "treatment".
    I would like to refine this using only students who report having attended a school (less than the total registered)- I understand from the RTI summary report that this question was asked, but I can't seem to find the responses with matched with individual identifiers, only an overall percentage in the report.
    Can anyone tell me if such a record exists, or maybe point me in a likely direction?

    @tchrlou Hello, Lou. If you look at the egra-egma-results-codebook.csv file at https://data.xprize.org/global_learning_xprize/5cc0c16150ddf00be88dc6e1, you'll find the variable "cq_3_End", which represents the question "Were you enrolled in school this past year?". A letter 'c' in the variable name indicates that the child was the person answering the question (not the parent - 'p').

    At https://data.xprize.org/global_learning_xprize/5cc0c16150ddf00be88dc6e1 under "Team-Specific Datasets", you'll find links to each finalist team's EGRA/EGMA results. Within each finalist team's EGRA/EGMA file, you'll find a column "id", which represents the "child_id" column in the Social-Emotional dataset.

    Note that only 75% of the EGRA/EGMA dataset of each finalist team has been uploaded to https://data.xprize.org. Therefore, you might find child identifiers in the Social-Emotional dataset that do not exist in a team's dataset.

    Excellent! I had missed that cq_3 field. Appreciated. I had noticed gaps- Am I understanding that the datasets will be more complete if downloaded at later dates?

    Hi - I have an orphaned nephew and niece in Syria. My husband and I are working through the adoption/immigration process, but in the meantime, we want to get them started learning English and all the other subjects that will give them a leg up when they get to the US. We are sending money to relatives that may be able to purchase a used laptop or tablet. Who can give us recommendations on software and/or hardware we should consider?

    Hi Everyone! My name is Matt and I am so excited to have the opportunity to become a part of this community. I am currently in my last gap year before I attend medical school next year and I have huge passion for science / innovation. The preservation of the Ocean holds a deep spot in my heart and I would love to be able to combat climate change for all organisms in the world. Overall, I don't have to much expertise in any specific fields yet, but I would love to contribute to any positive change for society in any way I can.
