I'm Nick Ottens, your online community manager. I live in Barcelona, Spain. My background is in political risk analysis, crowdsourced consultancy and journalism. I still occasionally blog about politics and international relations at Atlantic Sentinel.

In addition to the Longevity Community, I'm managing the Coral Restoration XPRIZE community and I will be soon be managing a third community about the Future of Agriculture for XPRIZE. (If you're interested in joining either of those, by the way, let me know!)

Hi everyone, and welcome! I'm Jessica Yoon, part of the research team for Longevity. I live in Los Angeles, California. I've worked with older-adult communities for over 5 years in social services, as well as contributed to research and pilot studies on how different technologies can support healthier aging in place.

Greetings! This is now my second project working at XPRIZE following the work I completed on Alzheimer's disease. As a mostly shameless jack-of-all-trades generalist it's great to be able to dig in to such a wide-reaching subject as longevity. Hi, I am professor emeritus at the University of Victoria, in B.C., Canada. I am a sociologist and gerontologist, conducting research on healthy aging, caregiving, and social support for over 35 years and having established 2 university based research centres on aging. I am especially interested in, as the saying in gerontolgoy goes, the quality of life rather than the quantity. I look forward to the discussion.

My experience includes, but is not limited to skilled nursing facilities, hospice and home health care. With this perspective, I bring a wealth of hands-on, real-life experience in the day-to-day issues of senior lives. I am Abhik Gupta. I teach Environmental Science in the Department of Ecology & Environmental Science at Assam University in India. I have a background in Zoology and do some research on environmental pollution and its possible implications in public health in terms of the obstacles they pose towards achieving a long life. I am also concerned about the social and cultural problems resulting from more people living for a longer period in developing countries like India. I am looking forward to enrich myself with the ideas being generated in the XPRIZE community and hope to make my own small contributions.
